Finding Peace in Jesus’s Name

Finding Peace in Jesus’s Name

Are you weary? Are you tired? Do the holidays seem like one big chaotic mess? Do you need peace? If we are honest, many of us become overwhelmed during the Christmas season. Anxiety swells, grief can cripple us, and conflict abounds. For most of us, the most wonderful time of the year leaves us more drained than when we started. We pine of peace. Friend, the peace we long for can only be found in one place, one person, Jesus Christ. In this sermon, Pastor Jamison surveys the names the prophet Isaiah ascribes to Jesus and shows us how Jesus overcomes our greatest problems, leading us into lasting peace.

Does this holiday season have you feeling more weary and bleak than ‘Merry & Bright?’ While the world around us sparkles with lights and holiday cheer, many of us wrestle with anxiety, conflict, grief, and the pressures of consumerism—things that quietly steal our joy during what’s supposed to be ‘The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.’ In our new sermon series, The Weary World Rejoices: Hope for the Holidays, we’re taking an honest look at the burdens that weigh us down during the Christmas season. Together, we’ll discover how the message of Christ’s birth speaks directly into our struggles, offering lasting hope, deep peace, and true joy. This Christmas, let’s rediscover the promise of Immanuel—God with us. He meets us in our weariness, fills our hearts with hope, and turns our mourning into rejoicing. Join us as we celebrate the light that shines in the darkness and brings joy to a weary world!
